Can you help me with swimming pool questions?
We are buying a metal sided pool 18x48. I would like to know ,from people who have pools, what the best hp pump is to have and any other handy tips you can give. With a pool this size can we or should we keep it up all year round or take it down for winter? If we keep it up do we drain the water or keep it in?

Well, we have a pool that is 30ft across,(it is circular) and 4 ft deep. The pump really doesn't matter, I would check at your local pool place. The pump we have is 30 years old, and still running strong, but my grandpa is the one who put in our pool 30 years ago, so IDK what kind it is. The pool company we bought it from is out of buisness, so we can't get another one the same.
We leave our pool up year round, and just cover it for the winter. We only drain it so that is is below the filter system. If you drained the whole thing, it might colapse.
TIPS:
Keep it clean, add chemicals to keep the water clear. Invest in a PH tester kit to make sure you have the right balance in your pool.
Buy a skimmer to keep the top clean
Buy a vaccum to keep the bottom clean and alge free
Some chemicals you need are:
Chlorine tablets-(you also need a blue floating thing called a chlorine floater, you can by one at any pool store)
Shock it
Clarifier(you might want the super stuff, depending on how cloudy it is)
Algecide
and some others Im not sure on, this is the stuff we use.
